Three exported rows do not necessarily represent three distinct exits

Audit fill identities and quantity coverage before interpreting a partial-exit summary or a Canadian-dollar reporting view.

Identify a fill within its actual scope

An export row can represent a fill, an order summary or another observation of an existing fill. Preserve the source account or product scope and the available fill reference. The cited account schema illustrates separate trade identifiers and quantities; your own provider’s field meanings still need to be checked.

A repeated amount at the same price is not proof of a duplicate. Conversely, a changed formatting style does not necessarily create a new fill. Keep the original rows and document the identity rule used to group them rather than deleting rows solely because their values look similar.

Reconcile one invented opening quantity

Start with an entered opening quantity of 10 units and three supplied distinct exits: fill A for 3, fill B for 2 and fill C for 1. Total entered exits are 6, leaving 4 units under a closed quantity-only model with no other movements.

If fill B appears twice in a combined export, summing rows gives 8 exited and an apparent remainder of 2. That discrepancy is caused by the duplicate representation in this example. It does not establish that the actual position shrank twice.

Keep order changes separate from executed quantity

An amended order quantity is not automatically an additional executed exit. Retain the amendment as a separate event and look for its corresponding fill evidence. Cancellation of an unfilled remainder should not be counted as a fill simply because a quantity appears in the message.

Likewise, a weighted exit price describes the supplied exited portion; it does not price the units that remain open. Keep the open quantity and any unconfirmed movement visible beside the exit summary rather than forcing every unit into a completed-trade result.

A correction needs a relationship to the original fill

If a later source marks fill B as corrected or reversed, retain that relationship explicitly. A new row containing minus two is not automatically a reversal: it could have another sign convention or another scope. In this teaching ledger, removing the confirmed two-unit exit from the distinct-fill set would leave exits of four and a conditional remainder of six. That is a separate scenario from receiving a duplicate copy of B. Keep the event type and its source evidence beside the arithmetic.

Add CAD valuation only after the unit ledger agrees

A Canadian reporting layer may value entered quantities in CAD, but that layer needs its own conversion inputs and observation times. A CAD value cannot resolve whether two source rows refer to one fill. Preserve asset units and identities before any monetary presentation.

The result here is a quantity reconciliation under stated assumptions, not an authenticated position, tax calculation or trade recommendation. Missing fills, transfers or source scope can leave the real remainder unknown even when the fictional arithmetic balances.
